Pixel Place is an online social-oriented pixel art game for mobile, and considered as one of many clones of the place social experiment originally hosted by reddit.
The game is available on iOS and Android.
Gameplay[]
A player can place a pixel in any one of the pre-determined 21 colors anywhere on a 1024x1024px canvas. Placing will trigger a 10-second cooldown, preventing the player from placing at an instant rate. This mechanism can and has been circumvented since the introduction of the game. The Canvas itself is not moderated, meaning all player art creations are not protected by moderation from vandalism, and the game itself has no set rules. This results in different kinds of conflicts and art "wars".
Factions[]
Seeing the collaborative aspect of the game, in version 1.5 a faction system was implemented in order to more efficiently cooperate and communicate in-game.
"Factions" are akin to seperate private groups, united under one or more general goals. Some factions, for example, Green Lattice has moved over from the original r/place and spread across almost every clone of it.
FP: Free Pixels[]
FP can be placed without cool down, giving the player a time advantage.
Logging into the game daily will grant the player a daily gift of 10 FP. Doing so in a successive fashion will increase the amount of FP per gift by 5, up to a total of 30. Skipping 2 daily logins in a row will break the streak and reset the gift to 10 FP. The total max of FP that can be amassed per account is 255.
Locked Pixels[]
In order to protect their creations, players can "lock pixels" by watching ads: after fully watching a short advertisement, the coordinates on which the pixel was placed will be unchangeable for a 2 hour period. locking an already locked pixel will extend the period of the lock. A lock icon will show up on the zoomed-in view on top of locked pixels.
In practiced, this mechanism has proved more beneficial for vandalism (griefing) rather than art protection.
Canvas Resets[]

Unlike Reddit’s r/place one time experiment, Pixel Place is a continuous community game thus requires a refresh to attract player interest. For that reason the canvas gets reset and wiped clean once full, allowing for new creations to be made. A reset canvas is "new", and coupled a number.
During the entire history of the app, there have been a total of 12 canvases (currently ongoing 12th canvas started November), including the two unordinary Halloween events specials, where players build Halloween-related drawings and compete for a reward. The best arts win different FP amounts. New canvas resets to white (Canvas 9 being an exception: it has been reset to colorful static noise, and halloween event canvases being reset to black to fit the holiday's spooky spirit).

Future of the Game and Possible Sequel[]
The developers at Mevo Inteligent Software S.R.L. have stated they are developing a sequel to the game, which will most likely be called Pixel Place 2 (final name not confirmed) and claim to be in the middle of the development phase. There is currently no ETA or official release date.

Android Availability[]
Pixel Place has been removed from the official Google Play Store, allegedly after being reported on for inappropriate content. The developer account has been suspended as well. Due to the open nature of the Android OS, there is still an alternative way to run the game:
Download the .APK game file available on apkpure.com
Go to your security settings and enable "unknown sources". This will allow your device to install any external apps outside the play store.
Tap on the pixel place file you downloaded and let it install.
Cheating & Exploitation[]
Since the introduction of the game players have found ways to cheat and bypass the intended game behavior and mechanics.
Bots/auto clickers[]
Since the game is available on Android, one could run the game’s APK file through external software meant to run Android software such as BlueStacks. Third-party software of the kind is capable of running automated actions with minimal user intervention, AKA "Macros". Using macros in the context of the game to place pixels automatically will generate robotic "macro patterns"
Using bots is mainly used as a method of griefing.
Alternative accounts[]
Alternative accounts/Alts (or multiple accounts) can be used to bypass the limitations imposed on a per account basis: Using multiple accounts at the same time will shorten the cool down period, giving the player a time advantage. Alts can also be used to bypass the FP limitation per account and accumulate massive amounts of FP to then overwhelm a target area. Since this is a server game, using any of these methods will risk any (or all) your accounts getting deleted or IP-banned by the developers.
